ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said the government was providing fuel to the public on lowest price among all the fuel importing countries.

Talking to a news channel, the minister said Pakistan reduced Rs 5 per litter on Monday while neighboring country India had reduced just Rs 0.04 per litter.

He said it was the wrong perception that the advantage of price decrease internationally was not being provided to the common man.

Khaqan Abbasi said no extra tax had been imposed over fuel items and the government was collecting tax over petrol Rs 25.59 per litter against Rs 26 mentioned in budget which was also less than 2014.

The price of petrol was decreased upto Rs 42 during the period of the present government, he added.
