ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) central leadner Fauzia Kasuri announced on Wednesday that she was leaving the party over claims of unjust distribution of party tickets on reserved seats.

“I am announcing with heavy heart that I am leaving Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf,” she said while addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday.

Fauzia Kasuri, who was once PTI’s women wing president, claims to have been ignored by her party for its choices in reserved seats for women.

“A mafia has taken over the party due to which thousands of workers are disappointed,” disgruntled Kasuri alleged. Kasuri said that she, along with thousands of other party members, have become victims of that mafia’s injustices.

However, she thanked Imran Khan for providing her a platform to do philanthropist and political work across the country.

Earlier, the PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan met Kasuri at her residence and offered her the post of adviser to PTI chairman. She advised Kasuri not to make any hasty decision about her political career.
