ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi on Thursday emphasized the need to develop stronger links between Higher Education systems in Pakistan and the United Kingdom including research collaboration, joint courses, conferences and partnerships.

In a meeting with the Chief Executive and Pro Vice-Chancellor University of London Dr. Marie Stiasny in Islamabad on Thursday, the assistant underlined the importance of cooperation of educational institutions in strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and the UK.

The assistant appreciated the contribution of the University of London in enhancing the level of collaboration between the education communities of both countries.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence in the level of collaboration between the two countries in the field of education. She desired to create further research links between the UK and Pakistan Universities.

Dr. Marie Stiasny highlighted the potential of growth of University of London International Programmes in Pakistan and reaffirmed her commitment to continue working in Pakistan to increase education linkages which can contribute positively to the upward trajectory of relations of both countries.
