RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and the Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt together visited the North Waziristan tribal region on Thursday, according to the Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Bajwa.

On his twitter account, the DG ISPR wrote that during their visit, the COAS and the air chief were briefed about the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb against various banned militant outfits.

They reviewed progress of the operation and future plans as well as they met with troops deployed in the battle ground.

On the occasion, the army chief appreciated the efficacy of use of air power with ground operations. He said that terrorists will be chased and targeted.

The COAS reaffirmed commitment to eliminate all terrorists.

The army chief directed all concerned to prepare for dignified return of Temporarily Displaced Persons (TDPs) to their homes.

The return in South Waziristan agency will commence on March 17 and in North Waziristan agency on March 31.
