PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The security forces on Friday morning killed four armed terrorists after a fierce gun battle in Christian Colony in Warsak, some 35 kilometer off Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Capital Peshawar, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
In a statement issued on Friday, the ISPR said that four suicide bombers equipped with arms and ammunition at 05:50 am today stormed Christian Colony in Warsak after targeting the security guard. The security forces promptly responded and surrounded the area.
Heavy exchange of fire took place between the forces and terrorists which culminated at the killing of all the terrorists. In exchange of fire two Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers, a police constable and two civilian guards were injured.
The security forces cordoned off the area and started door to door search operation.
The ISPR said that the situation was in control and the operation ended successfully.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif appreciated army, FC and police for prompt and effective response to counter the terrorists attempt successfully.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over successfully foiling the attack in Peshawar by 4 suicide bombers.
In a statement, he said that enhanced ability and capacity of our security agencies including army, FC and police to promptly neutralize the terrorist attacks is highly appreciated.
The prime minister commended the efforts of the security officials for successfully neutralizing the terrorists without any loss of life and property of the people.
