Afghan President expected to visit Pakistan within next two weeks

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Afghan President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai is expected to visit Pakistan within next two weeks, reports said on Wednesday.

The prime minister’s adviser on national security and foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz during his visit to Afghanistan last month conveyed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s formal invitation to the Afghan president to visit Pakistan.

The 65-year-old Ashraf Ghani who recently made his first foreign trip to China since he was sworn in as the new Afghan president on September 29, told a press conference following the conclusion of his visit that he would visit Pakistan in the near future to discuss the reconciliation process in Afghanistan.
