LAHORE, Pakistan: The whole nation will pay homage to the martyrs of Army Public School (APS) Peshawar on its first anniversary being observed on Wednesday (December 16) with a renewed pledge to fight terrorism collectively to purge the country of terrorism.

Special prayers and fateha for the martyrs of APS Peshawar will be offered in mosques after Fajr prayer.

In the Punjab metropolis seminars, walks, essay competition, colloquium, national songs, stage shows and other events will be held in the educational institutions and other places to pay tributes to martyrs of the School.

According to District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman special programme had been chalked out to commemorate the sacrifices of Army Public School.

He said that main function in this regard would be held in Town Hall.  He said, siren and national anthem would be played on the day.

The Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has already directed the respective district administrations to hold functions for commemorating the sacrifices of martyrs of Army Public School throughout the province.

“We cannot forget sacrifices of these innocent children,” he said, adding they would not take rest until the elimination of last terrorist from the motherland.

He said the cold-blooded incident had united the entire nation. He said Pakistan would be purged of terrorists at all costs.

The biggest function in connection with the first anniversary of the terrorist attack on APS will be held in the premises of the school in Peshawar at which Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, four Chief Ministers and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif among other high profile dignitaries will also participate.

Similar functions will also be held in other parts of the country, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Federal Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) to pay homage to martyred students and staff members of Army Public School.

It was on this day last year when a group of terrorists attacked the Army Public School in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Capital and martyred nearly 150 people including 132 students of the school.

Meanwhile, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has released a new song to commemorate the APS Peshawar traged.

New song is sung by a kid just like the ‘Bada Dushman Bana Phirta Hai’ song which was released by ISPR immediately after the December 16 attack.

The hardships faced by the grieving families have also been highlighted in the song, especially the scenes featuring parents of martyred kids will leave everyone in tears.
