Islamabad, Pakistan: Iranian Embassy responds presence of RAW in Iran and criticized Pakistani media.
Iranian Embassy in Islamabad has responded to on-going series of news items suggesting that Iranian land has been used by Indian Intelligence agency RAW against Pakistan.According to a statement issued by Iranian Embassy in Islamabad on Thursday said as below:
“During the past few days, some sections of Pakistani media have spread contents regarding detention of an Indian agent and the matter related to it, which could have negative implications on the fraternal and friendly atmosphere of Iran and Pakistan”.
A spokesman for Embassy further said that spreading of such remarks and news items were product of thinking which does not like further expansion of ties between the two countries.
“Elements unhappy over promotion of ties between the two Islamic countries of Iran and Pakistan are trying in various ways, including the spreading of undignified and sometimes offensive contents, to fade out the significant achievements during the visit of President Rouhani to Pakistan. Iran wants a stable Pakistan. Iran has never felt danger from Pakistan at its border,” the spokesman said.
It may be mentioned that Pakistan has written a letter to Iran demanding assistance to help investigate the activities of Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav who was arrested at Pak-Iran border by Pakistani authorities.
Pakistan has demanded Iran in the letter help them investigate other RAW network operating in the region.
Pakistan also demanded Tehran arrest and handing over of Yadav’s accomplice Rakesh alias Rizwan.The news of using Iran as base camp by RAW came on surface when Iran President Hassan Rouhani was on his visit to Pakistan and Iranian President during his meeting with Chief of Pakistan Army was briefed about the events related to credible information that Iranian land had been used against Pakistan by Indian intelligence agency RAW.
