ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will have to suffer $15 million loss if Pakistan Cricket Team doesn’t travel to India to participate in the ICC T20 World Cup 2016 for security reasons, the PCB Chairman Shehryar Khan told the Interior Ministry.

The Pakistan team needs to travel to India for the tournament but the Pakistani government has not yet allowed it to happen, asking the Indian government to give written security assurance first.

Sources said that the PCB Chairman in a letter to the Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan told that if that Pakistan team doesn’t go to India, the board will have to bear the loss of $15 million.

Pakistan receives security assurance from India

Meanwhile, the West Bengal State Government has assured the Pakistani government in a written letter that Pakistan team would be provided full security when the team would arrive there to play two matches at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, on March 16 and March 19 against India.

The decision of sending Pakistan team to India would be made soon and it is likely that Shahid Afridi’s men would leave for Kolkata tonight for the ICC T20 World Cup 2016.

Earlier, the Pakistani government put a condition for allowing the team to go to India, asking India to first assure full security for Pakistan team in a written form.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
