ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday said the terror financing and money laundering were menaces that Pakistan had to confront and eradicate.

In his remarks on the floor of the National Assembly, Qureshi said long deliberations were held with the Opposition Parties to reach a consensus on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) related legislation.

The foreign minister said the positive suggestions of the opposition were honestly incorporated.

Money laundering - The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday said the terror financing and money laundering were menaces that Pakistan had to confront and eradicate. Meanwhile, the National Assembly passed the Anti-Terrorism (Amendment) Bill, 2020 moved by the Federal Minister for Law Farogh Naseem. Talking on the floor, the Law Minister said it was a historic day that the FATF related legislation was being carried out with consensus in the larger interest of the Country. Farogh Naseem said whitening the economy and checking terror financing were important to take the Country forward on the path of development. The Law Minister said it was also their aim to simplify the legislation and ensure the protection of the fundamental rights of the people.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly passed the Anti-Terrorism (Amendment) Bill, 2020 moved by the Federal Minister for Law Farogh Naseem.

Talking on the floor, the Law Minister said it was a historic day that the FATF related legislation was being carried out with consensus in the larger interest of the Country.

Farogh Naseem said whitening the economy and checking terror financing were important to take the Country forward on the path of development.

The Law Minister said it was also their aim to simplify the legislation and ensure the protection of the fundamental rights of the people.
