Sajal Aly’s screen presence has made her talent visible to international platforms. After appearing in the Bollywood movie, Mom, alongside Siri Devi, Sajal has done a big international project which is a British rom-com. What’s Love Got to Do With It? is a British rom-com. Jemima Goldsmith, ex-wife of Chairman PTI, Imran Khan has written and produced it. The movie has officially been released in UK and Australia. Soon, we are going to watch it in our Pakistani theatres as well.
What’s Love Got To Do With It? Pakistani Release
According to reports Atrium Cinema has revealed the tentative release date of What’s Love Got To Do With It? to be 3rd March. However, other cinemas like Nueplex Cinemas, The Arena, and Cue Cinemas have not yet talked about the release date. Lahore’s Universal Cinema denied the screening of the movie in the cinema houses.
The film was released in Australia on 26th January and in the UK on 27th January. It gained much appreciation for portraying a cross-cultural rom-com. It also premiered at Toronto Film Festival and Rome Film Festival last year.
The producer and writer, Jemima Khan presented this movie as a love letter to Pakistan to show her strong connection with the country. She also said that her’s and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan’s, sons, Suleman and Qasim Khan also loved the movie.
Cast and Storyline
Along with Sajal Aly, this movie stars Lily James, Shahzad Latif, Shabana Azmi and others. It is directed by an Indian director, Shekhar Kapur. The movie is about cross-cultural relationships. It is a story of a struggling filmmaker, Zoe, who could not find her Mr Right. She has had a bad dating experience. On the other hand, there is her neighbour, Kazim who wants to marry a girl (Sajal Aly) from Pakistan in an arranged marriage.
To know more about the story, viewers in Pakistan have to wait a little longer for the official release of What’s Love Got To Do With It? in cinema houses. After this huge international project, Sajal Aly is all ready to appear in Umrao Jaan Ada latest adaptation.
