Enemy could take benefit from mistrust between PPP, MQM: Nawaz

KARACHI, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that enemy could take benefit from the mistrust between the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), and urged both political parties to resolve their differences to help establish peace in the province.

Talking to media in Karachi after visiting Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) on Friday, the prime minister assured all possible support of the federal government for removing mistrust between the two parties.

The prime minister said that the government will address reservations of all political parties in Sindh.

Sharif also expressed concern over the killing of MQM party workers. He said that the police will submit report within 30 days after completing its probe into the incidents.

Nawaz Sharif said that the government is going to further slash the petroleum prices and he will announce the reduction on Saturday.

The prime minister expressed hope that the energy crisis would be overcome during tenure of the present government.

Earlier in the day, while charring a high-level meeting in Karachi to review law and order in the city, the prime minister ordered to constitute a judicial commission within a week’s time to probe into the killings of MQM workers Sohail Ahmed, Rehan and Faraz Alam in Karachi.

Sharif said that whosoever was involved in these killings should be apprehended regardless of their affiliations.

Later, the prime minister also met a four-member MQM delegation comprising Farooq Sattar, Babar Ghauri, Haider Abbas Rizvi and Qamar Mansoor at the Governor House in Karachi.
