Elections 2018Saad Rafique, PTI go for recount

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-L) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique has challenged the victory of the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan in NA-131 Lahore-IX.

Saad Rafique has submitted application before the Returning Office (RO) to probe intentional cancelation of PML-N votes.

The PML-N leader demanded the recounting of votes as Imran Khan won by a close margin.

As per the result announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Imran Khan bagged 84213 votes from NA-131 whereas Saad Rafiqui took 83633 votes.

Reportedly, PTI’s Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa lost to an Independent Candidate Muhammad Amjad Farooq Khan Khosa from NA-190 Dera Ghazi Khan-II. Likewise, PTI’s Usman Dar has also decided to demand a recount in NA-73 Sialkot-II. From the Constituency, PML-N’s leader Khawaja Asif was declared winner with 116957 votes while Usman Dar remained runner up with 115464 votes.

In NA-21 Mardan-II, PTI’s Muhammad Atif will also go for recounting for votes as he took 78878 votes whereas his opponent Awami National Party’s (ANP) bagged 78911 votes.
