ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday approved renaming of 122 colleges and schools of the federal Capital after the names of martyrs of Peshawar Army Public School (APS).
The Prime Minister said that the initiative was aimed at making the memory of these children to last long and outlive the tragic incident that ended their lives by forces of hate and ignorance.
“The intolerant don’t want our children to learn, but we will not give in. These children have sowed the seeds of enlightenment. Our enemies fight with hate and extremism and we must fight back by promoting tolerance, enlightenment and education in our homeland. Existence of our home land and memories of our martyrs are inseparable,” he said, said PM House press release here.
Senate reaffirms solidarity with APS victims
Meanwhile, the Senate has unanimously passed a resolution, re-affirming solidarity with the families of martyrs of APS and urging unflinching struggle to eliminate menace of terrorism from country.
The resolution was moved by Senator Sehar Kamran.
The Senate re-affirmed its solidarity with families of martyrs of APS Peshawar and demanded of the government to continue its struggle for eliminating terrorism from the country.
