ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal government established five Public Sector Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) during the last four years amounting to Rs 1,567.000 million, the Senate was told.
In reply to a question, the Minister for Federal Education, Professional Training, National Heritage and Culture Rana Tanveer Hussain told the Upper House of the Parliament on Friday that the following HEIs were established by the federal government;
The province-wise breakup is as under:
Federal
- National University of Technology, Islamabad
- National Skill University, Islamabad
- Health Services Academy, Islamabad
Sindh
- PAF Air War College Institute Karachi
- Hyderabad Institute for Technical & Management Sciences, Hyderabad
The minister told that the amount of funds provided by the federal government to the above-mentioned universities during last four years i.e., 2018-19 to 2021-22 was Rs 1,567.000 million.
