Education35,407 students from Balochistan got HEC scholarship: NA told

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Federal Education and Profession Training, Baligur Rehman on Wednesday informed the National Assembly said that total 35407 scholarships had been awarded under 24 Higher Education Commission (HEC) development projects.

Replying to a question of MNA, he said that three special schemes had been exclusively launched by the government for the students of Balochistan, adding amount of 980 million allocated under HEC phase 1 programmed and phase second would be started soon.

He said that federal government had enhanced quota for students of Balochistan and Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) and allocated around Rs 750 million for fee reimbursement of MSc and MPhil students from less developed areas.

He informed that 2000 youth from Balochistan were trained under Prime Minister Youth Skill Development Program in year 2013-2014 and same number of youth were being trained this year.
