LAHORE: The Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jilani has said that democracy and rule of law are facing threats due to intolerance in the country.

In his address at a function organized by the Supreme Court Bar in the honor of Justice Umer Ata Bandial in Lahore, the chief justice said that the activities of non-state actors who are trampling down law in the country and non-confidence of people into judicial system is also increasing intolerance.

The chief justice hoped that the judiciary will take measures to provide speedy justice to the people and will respect their oath to law and constitution.
