COVID deaths in Pakistan soar to 11,683 with 26 new fatalities

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Further 26 COVID patients passed away while 1,615 new Coronavirus Cases surfaced across Pakistan in the last 24 hours, showed the latest statistics released by the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC) on Monday morning.

Most of the deaths recorded on January 31 took place in Punjab which suffered 11 fatalities due to COVID-19 followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which registered 9 deaths.

   

Sindh and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) also suffered 4 and 2 deaths respectively on January 31.

In total, 11,683 COVID patients have so far succumbed to the disease in Pakistan. Of them, 4,747 patients belonged to Punjab, 3,996 to Sindh, 1,906 to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 475 to Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), 262 to AJK, 196 to Balochistan, and 102 to Gilgit-Baltistan.

The NCOC’s statistics showed that 34,785 COVID tests were carried out on January 31 in the Country which found 1,615 people positive.

To date, a total of 546,428 Coronavirus Cases have been detected throughout the Country including 247,249 in Sindh, 157,796 in Punjab, 67,214 in KPK, 41,418 in ICT, 18,823 in Balochistan, 9,019 in AJK, and 4,909 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

As of now, 501,252 COVID patients have been recovered across Pakistan and 33,493 are still battling with the disease.
