ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Tuesday removed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Chairman Tariq Malik without notifying any reasons and had appointed Director General NADRA Sindh Brigadier (retd) Zahid as acting chairman of the authority.

Later, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) suspended the notification regarding dismissal of the NADRA Chairman Tariq Malik and declared that the appointment of Brig (R) Zahid Hussain as acting Chairman NADRA is illegal.
