PK 8303 crash - The Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan has said that an inquiry report of the PIA plane crash incident will be compiled in shortest possible time. On Friday, a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK 8303 crashed in a Karachi’s residential area near the Jinnah International Airport just before landing, resulting in deaths of 97 passengers including 26 women, 68 men and 3 children However, luckily two persons including the President of Bank of Punjab Zafar Masud and Muhammad Zubair survived the crash. While addressing a News Conference along with the CEO PIA Air Marshal (retd) Arshad Malik in Karachi on Saturday afternoon, the aviation minister assured that there will be an independent, free, and fair inquiry into the incident, and any responsible if found will be taken to the task. The aviation minister said that it will be ensured that at least a provincial investigation report of the PIA plane crash comes within three months. The minister said that we fully share the pain and grief of the families of the deceased. He said that no one can compensate the loss of human lives; however, the government will expedite the process to award compensation of Rs 1 million to family of each victim. Ghulam Sarwar said that compensation will also be given to those whose properties including houses or vehicles have been damaged in the incident after proper assessment. The CEO PIA Air Marshal (retd) Arshad Malik said that 21 dead bodies have been handed over to their relatives. Air Marshal (retd) Arshad Malik said that a transparent investigation will be held into the incident. He said that samples of DNA have been taken to identify the bodies.
