ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan’s Embassy in Iraq has successfully managed to send all stranded Pakistani Zaireen (pilgrims) back to the Country, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Faisal said in a tweet on Saturday.

Dr Faisal said that an inquiry is being initiated against the tour operators whose inefficiency led to the problem for the Pakistanis Zaireen. He appreciated Ambassador Sajid Bilal and his team for their efforts on this occasion.

   

The Spokesperson also welcomed the Zaireen back to home.

“Good news – Our Embassy in Iraq has successfully managed to send all our stranded Zaireen to Pakistan. Welcome home. Inquiry being initiated against the tour operator whose inefficiency led to the problem for Pakistanis – kudos to Amb Sajid Bilal and his team,” said that tweet by Dr. Faisal.

Meanwhile in another tweet, Dr Faisal said that the first Committee of United Nationals General Assembly (UNGA) on November 8 adopted three resolutions presented by Pakistan focusing on regional disarmament, conventional arms control at regional and sub-regional levels as well as confidence building measures in the regional and sub-regional context.

Dr. Faisal said that the resolutions underscore the importance of regional approaches to disarmament which complement global disarmament efforts and stress the need for promoting confidence building measures for enhancing regional and international peace and security.
