War on terror to continue till its logical conclusion: PM Nawaz

QUETTA, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the war on terrorism which has been expanded to the entire country will continue till its logical conclusion.

“We have to win this war at all costs as it is the matter of the survival of our future generations and economic stability of the country,” the prime minister said while addressing the passing-out parade of first batch of Balochistan’s Counter-Terrorism Force in Quetta on Thursday.

The prime minister said that establishment of counter-terrorism force in provinces is manifestation of our firm determination against the menace. He said that this force is being equipped with latest arms and weapons to enhance their capacity.

Nawaz Sharif expressed the resolve to weed out terrorism at all costs for peace and security in the country. He said that protection of lives and properties of the people is our foremost priority.

“We will not rest till the homeland is completely purged of the curse of terrorism,” Sharif said.

The premier further said that the nation has rendered innumerable sacrifices in the war against terrorism.

Sharif said that the security forces on the one hand are engaged in Zarb-e-Azb operation in North Waziristan and the federal and provincial governments on the other hand are striving to cleanse the country of terrorists through the implementation of national action plan.

The prime minister said that the consensus demonstrated by our institutions, political leaders and the armed forces against terrorism is unprecedented.

Balochistan police force will be depoliticized: Dr Abdul Malik

In his remarks on the occasion, the Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik said that the provincial police force will be depoliticized and recruitment will be made on merit.

The chief minister said that the provincial police force will be provided with all the facilities.

Dr Abdul Malik expressed the confidence that the police force will perform their duty for the protection of the people.

Earlier, the prime minister gave away prizes to the outstanding officers of the force.

On the occasion, the personnel of Counter-Terrorism Force also demonstrated their skills to fight terrorists.

The ceremony was also attended amongst others by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, the Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch and Commander of Southern Command Lt General Nasir Khan Janjua.
