Nawaz Sharif cancels his visit to Switzerland due to fuel crisis

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has cancelled his visit to Switzerland keeping in view the prevailing petrol crisis in the country.

Sharif was scheduled to attend the 45th World Economic Forum annual meeting being held from January 21 to 24 in Davos, Switzerland.

Meanwhile, the prime minister has convened a high level meeting in Islamabad on Thursday to review demand and supply of petrol for the next two months.

The meeting will be attended by the federal minister for finance Ishaq Dar, the minister for water and power Khawaja Muhammad Asif and the minister for petroleum and natural resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Fuel supply streamlined; situation normalizing: Abbasi

Talking to media, the petroleum and natural resources minister said that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure smooth supply of petroleum to the public.

Abbasi said that supply of petroleum products has been streamlined and now the situation is normalizing all over Punjab.

The minister further said that the government is fully aware of the problems of the masses and all important steps have been taken to ensure smooth supply of the petroleum products.
