Pakistan an attractive place for investment, says PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that as a result of measures taken by the incumbent government, Pakistan is now an attractive place for investment.

In his address at an International Investment Conference began in Islamabad on Monday with the theme “Priority sectors and legal framework for investment in Pakistan”, Sharif said that the conference will apprise the participants about the investment opportunities in Pakistan.

The prime minister said that the government has taken several steps to revive the country’s economy. He welcomed the foreign entrepreneurs, and said that the conference will apprise the participants of the avenues of investment in Pakistan.

Sharif said that Pakistan’s economy has shown positive progress during the past one year and all economic indicators are quite encouraging. He said that fast progressing Pakistani stock market reflects government’s vibrant economic policies.

The premier said that Pakistan is facing energy crisis and there has been a wide gap between its demand and supply. He said that a number of energy projects are in progress to overcome this energy crisis. He said that still there is a room for more investment in this important sector.

Similarly, he said, the government is focusing much attention on privatization of the state-owned enterprises.
