Parliament of Iran has voted in favor to put a ban on all kinds of permanent contraception and the advertisements of birth control.

The bill was been approved by half majority of parliament 143 out of 231 members reported by IRNA. Moreover this bill prohibits all surgical operations to permanently prevent pregnancy, including vasectomies and female sterilization, unless in the case of emergency when surgery is urgently needed due to health risks.
