Pakistan, Tajikistan agree to increase bilateral cooperation

DUSHANBE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held a meeting with the Tajik Deputy Prime Minister Azeem Ibrahim in Dushanbe on Tuesday, and discussed matters of bilateral interest and cooperation in the sectors of energy and trade.

Pakistan and Tajikistan also signed an agreement and four memorandums of understanding (MoUs) under which the two countries will cooperate with each other for the eradication of terrorism, promotion of technical cooperation for the uplift of textile industry, professional and technical training and cooperation for the promotion of culture.

Earlier in the day, the Pakistani premier arrived in Dushanbe on a two-day official visit to Tajikistan. He was received at the airport by deputy prime minister Azeem Ibrahim.
