Pakistan reaffirms desire to resolve all outstanding issues with India

WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Jalil Abbas Jilani has said that his country desires to resolve all outstanding disputes with India including core issue of Jammu and Kashmir through a meaningful dialogue.

In his address at Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington, the ambassador Jilani said that we hope that India will reciprocate Pakistan’s sincere gestures. Meanwhile, Jilani emphasized the need to effectively address the irritants like unilateral US drone strikes.

Earlier‚ the ambassador had a meeting with Senator Joe Manchin from West Virginia in Washington and discussed issues related to bilateral relations, mutual interest including peace and stability in Afghanistan.

During the meeting, both the sides agreed to work closely for smooth and orderly withdrawal of the US forces from Afghanistan.

On the occasion, Senator Manchin assured the ambassador Jilani of continued cooperation to Pakistan in meeting its energy challenges.
