Six including JUI-S leader killed in separate firing incidents in Karachi

KARACHI: At least six persons including a leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Samiul Haq (JUI-S) were killed in two separate incidents of firing in Karachi on Friday night.

In the first incident, unknown armed men opened fire on a car carrying four persons including Mufti Usman Yar, the secretary general of JUI-S, near Awami Markaz on Shahra-e-Faisal in Karachi.

They received bullets in their chest and were taken to the Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment, where three of them succumbed to their wounds.

In another incident‚ three staffers of a private television channel were killed in firing at their vehicle.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman strongly condemned the incident.
