ISLAMABAD: Former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf was released on Wednesday evening, hours after a local court in Islamabad issued order to release him after he submitted two surety bonds of Rs100,000.
Musharraf was imprisoned in his Chak Shehzad farmhouse near Islamabad which was declared sub-jail.
Earlier on Monday, Islamabad additional district and sessions judge Wajid Ali accepted the bail application of Musharraf on two surety bonds of Rs100,000 each in the murder case of Lal Masjid cleric Abdul Rasheed Ghazi in the 2007 military operation.
Musharraf was arrested on October 10, five weeks after Ghazi’s son Haroon Rasheed registered the murder charge against him with Aabpara police in Islamabad.
