IranIran, IAEA reach new agreement in Vienna

VIENNA: Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have reached a new agreement as the most important achievement of the two-day talks held in Austrian capital Vienna, a source close to the Iranian nuclear negotiating team said.

“During the second round of their talks today (Tuesday), the Islamic Republic of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency reached a new accord which will replace the previous frameworks,” the source said.

The two sides described their two-day negotiations as very productive, and said that they will meet again on November 11 for next round of talks in Tehran.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Monday that in a meeting with IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano he had put forward proposals and pledged a new approach in dealings with the UN agency regarding Iranian nuclear energy program.
