KHAIRPUR/MUZAFFARGARH: Floodwater continued devastations in many parts of Sindh and Punjab as many villages were ruined in Khairpur while many localities inundated in Muzaffargarh on Tuesday.

Overflowing floodwater wreaked havoc in Bachal Malah area of District Khairpur in Sindh, where people struggled to moved towards safe places amid over six feet high water, leaving many ruined villages behind.

The flood victims camped in tents round key roads on self-help basis while searching for safe shelters and rescuing other people in boats from the floodwater trapped areas.

At the other side, similar situation was witnessed in Alipur’s Seetpur area of Muzaffargarh after fissure in local safety dyke.

Several localities were inundated and road links disconnected while crops of sugar canes, cotton, and pulses ruined after breach in the safety dyke.

The Flood Control Center informed that current water flow at Sindh’s Guddu Barrage was 399,000 cusecs and 355,800 cusecs at Sukkur Barrage.
