ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday lifted the ban on recruitments in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and assured that the bureau will be provided with latest security gadgets.

The premier made this announcement during his visit to the headquarters of intelligence bureau in Islamabad on Friday.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Information Minister Pervez Rasheed were also present on the occasion.

The prime minister was briefed about matters pertaining to national security. Meanwhile, keeping in view the prevailing security situation in the country, the prime minister lifted the ban on recruitments in Intelligence Bureau.

The PM Nawaz also approved various proposals to enhance the capability of the agency. He also approved purchase of new and modern equipment for IB.
