PoliticsPM Nawaz, Kayani discuss situation on LoC

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General (COAS) Ashfaq Parvez Kayani called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Monday and briefed him on important defense matters and the situation on the Line of Control (LoC).

They discussed current wave of terrorism and security issues besides defense related matters. They also discussed proposed national security policy to be finalized soon to control terrorism.

Moreover, they also discussed overall security situation of the country and the deployment of army in the by-polls during the meeting.

During the meeting, the COAS assured the Prime Minister of the best performance of the forces during the polls.

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif was also present at the meeting.
