LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain on Saturday urged all office bearers, party workers to remain resolute even if he was arrested by police in Britain.

Husain, who lives in self-exile in London, is facing an investigation by British authorities over charges including money laundering and incitement to violence among others and there is a possibility that the discovery of unaccounted for hundreds of thousands of pounds from his house may lead to his arrest.

“I am not afraid of being arrested as I am innocent,” Hussain said this while speaking over phone from London to party’s office bearers in Mirpur Khas and Hyderabad on Saturday.

Hussain said he had been physically residing in Britain for the last 21 years, but mentally he was still with his companions and supporters.

The MQM chief said that no world force could keep him away from his supporters.

Meanwhile, the MQM chief demanded to the government and Election Commission to ensure peaceful holding of by-elections.
