SUKKUR: Following threats of attack on Central Jail of the city, a bypass one-way road near the Central Jail has been blocked; police officials say the road will remain closed with heavy police presence for 15 to 20 days.

According to ASP City Sukkur, Central Jail-1 is faced with assault threat; accordingly, the nearby half-kilometer patch of one-way road has been closed with police and rangers personnel deployed there.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Jails Ashraf Khan and ASP City Masud Bangash averred the report that the road will close for 15 to 20 days.

It should be mentioned here that two prisoners Ataullah alias Qasim and Muhammed Azam will be meted out death sentence in this jail on August 20 and 21 respectively.
