The first exhibition of Amin Rehman’s new project, Strands of Pearls: A New Awakening, will be held at the Chawkandi Art Gallery, Karachi, Pakistan, on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, at 5 p.m. The exhibition has been curated by Naazish Ata-Ullah. Before the exhibition opening at 4 p.m., the curator of the exhibition, Naazish Ata-Ullah, will be in conversation with the artist, Amin Rehman.
Strands of Pearls: A New Awakening includes mixed media paintings with layers of text through a shared integrated technique, like the palimpsest technique. The exhibition includes mixed media, neon, and video installations that explore personal stories of people from Pakistan and Sri Lanka, affected by China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The project aims to highlight the BRI’s impact on South Asian geopolitics.
