ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United States have agreed to hold dialogue on the cooperation in civil nuclear technology, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said on Tuesday.

Following a meeting with US trade delegation headed by Elizabeth Little who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday, the minister told media that the US delegation expressed willingness to invest in bio-energy sector in Pakistan to overcome power crisis.

The minister said transfer of technology is major impediment in the way of bilateral cooperation between both countries.

Dar said Pakistan is an attractive country for investment. He said resolving energy crisis of the country is Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government’s first priority. He said we want to promote trade with open mind. He said PML-N government is committed to revive the economy.

Ishaq Dar also said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is endeavoring to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the head of American delegation Elizabeth Little said her country will enhance cooperation with Pakistan in power generation through wind and bio-gas.

Little said US will enhance technical cooperation with Pakistan to increase power generation through alternative ways.
