JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has called for the reversal of all illegal and unilateral measures taken on or after August 5, 2019 in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
August 5, 2024 marks the fifth anniversary of the unilateral revocation of the special status of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Reiterating OIC Summit decisions and Council of Foreign Ministers’ resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir, the OIC General Secretariat has called for the respect of the internationally recognized status of Jammu and Kashmir and for the reversal of all illegal and unilateral measures taken on or after August 5, 2019.
The General Secretariat has also expressed its full solidarity with the Kashmiri people in their quest for their right to self-determination.
Furthermore, the OIC has called upon the international community to increase efforts for the settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute on the basis of relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Meanwhile, Youm-e-Istehsal is being observed in Pakistan on Monday to register protest against the Indian government’s illegal action of August 5, 2019.
The Hindutva-influenced BJP-led Indian regime illegally and unilaterally abrogated Article 370 and 35-A of the Indian Constitution, revoking the Special Status of Kashmir, five years ago.
