DHAKA, Bangladesh: The High Commissioner for the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Bangladesh Syed Ahmed Maroof paid a courtesy call on the Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday to congratulate her on the victory of her Party Awami League and conveyed the message of goodwill and friendship form the Pakistani leadership.Pakistan High Commissioner felicitates Sheikh Hasina on elections victory

Sheikh Hasina thanked the High Commissioner for the gesture and felicitated him on his appointment as the High Commissioner in Dhaka.

Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina secured her fourth straight term in the Bangladesh’s 12th Parliamentary Elections held on January 07, 2024.

Sheikh Hasina‘s Awami League and its allied parties won 223 of 300 parliamentary seats in the general elections.

The main opposition party Bangladesh Nationalist Party had boycotted the elections, alleging that the polls were fake.
