PoliticsMarriyum Aurangzeb holds architects of Project Imran for high electricity bills

Monitoring Desk: Without naming anybody former Federal Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb holds architects of “Project Imran” for price hikes in electricity units. It may be mentioned that previous military leadership is blamed for “Project Imran”.

In her X message, she said:

At this time, the country and the nation are suffering from the consequences of “Project Imran” which continues till today, the electricity bill is a reflection of it. The nation must bring to justice today all those actors who led Pakistan to go to IM after saying goodbye to IM, breaching the agreement, and reaching the brink of default, economic collapse and the dollar reaching this price today. Inflation has made the living of the poor prohibitive. Who was hurt when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called IMF Khairabad forever? Who was hurt when the price of flour, ghee, and sugar did not change for five years during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure? Who was suffering when inflation hit a low of 4 percent? 14000 MW of electricity was generated, there was cheap electricity and gas, cheap bread, economic growth was 6.1%, CPEC came, terrorism ended, and the youth was getting employment, so who was hurt? Today, while burning the bill of the nation, it must be asked who burned the journey of development of Pakistan? This conspiracy was not against Nawaz Sharif, but against the livelihood and bread of Pakistan and the people who are suffering its consequences today. Sow the seeds of hatred, corruption and chaos that future generations will suffer.

She, however, did not explain why did PDM government during its 16-month tenure not try those who according to her were architects of Project Imran.
