Islamabad, Pakistan: “I have no evidence against army officers I blamed for planning my murder”.

This was told by the former prime minister Imran Khan to the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) that is probing his allegations against a sitting Major General of Pakistan for (allegedly) planning to kill Imran Khan.

According to available information, the former prime minister claimed that someone told him that Major General Faisal Naseer had planned to kill him. When Imran Khan was asked to share the name of the person who told him about this alleged planning, Imran Khan informed JIT that he had forgotten the name of the person who shared this information.

Sources also claimed that JIT showed clips of his statements/speeches in which he accused the army General of planning his murder. Imran Khan confirmed that his statements/speeches that were provided to him were genuine.

The JIT inquired why he mentioned the name of DG ISI in his videos. They also questioned whether he had met a senior military official, whom he referred to as “Dirty Harry” (the diction he coined for Army General for accusing him in the past). Imran Khan answered that he had never met him. Sources claimed that Imran had been in contact with retired army officials and they could be the persons Imran Khan had been referring to in the past that “someone told him about planning to kill him” but now Khan is avoiding sharing his name.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan held a press conference in which he confirmed that Imran Khan had failed to produce substantiated evidence in favor of allegations he leveled against military leadership for planning his murder and he had also forgotten the name of the person who told revealed this planning to him.

It may be mentioned that a case had been registered at Ramna police station in Islamabad against Imran Khan for accusing army officers and tailoring conspiracy theories to defame Pakistan Army. A JIT had been constituted to investigate these allegations and it was the first time that JIT members questioned him and he failed to produce any evidence and even the name of the person who, according to Imran Khan told him that the Pakistan Army had hatched a conspiracy to assassinate him.
