QUETTA: The death toll in last night’s Quetta blast has risen to twenty eight (28).

The deceased included nine (9) women and three children‚ while over fifty (50) people were injured.

The incident happened when an unknown suicide bomber wearing explosive jacket was stopped outside Imambargah “Ali Abu Talib” in Ali Abad area of Hazara Town and blew himself up.

A shutter down strike is being observed in Quetta today in protest against the Hazara town blast.

All business centers and markets are closed and traffic remains off the roads in the city.

Meanwhile‚ Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen and Hazara Democratic Party have announced a three-day mounring over the incident.

President Asif Ali Zardari‚ Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif‚ Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai and Chief Minister Dr. Abdul Maalik Baloch have strongly condemned the explosion.

Prime Minister has directed the authorities concerned to provide best possible medical facilities to the injured.
