LAHORE: Lahore High Court has issued a stay order against seizure of those vehicles, which had been registered recently under an amnesty scheme during last days of previous regime.
Some owners of amnesty-registered vehicles filed petition in Lahore High Court (LHC), saying they imported vehicles from abroad under law of that time and paid all taxes and dues but now their vehicles are being confiscated after declaring amnesty scheme illegal.
The LHC issued stay order against confiscation of vehicles and demanded reply on the issue from the federal government on Saturday.
Prior to this order of the Lahore High Court, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued orders to the FBR to seize 50, 000 amnesty registered vehicles, after declaring amnesty scheme illegal.
