RAHIM YAR KHAN, Pakistan: The President of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zaid Al Nahyan arrived in Pakistan on a private visit on Wednesday.

Upon his arrival at the Chandna Airport in Punjab’s Rahim Yar Khan City, the UAE president was received by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and a number of ministers and senior officials.

Later both the leader held a meeting in which they discussed matters of mutual interest between Pakistan and UAE.

UAE President arrives in Rahim Yar Khan, PM Shahbaz reiterates to further strengthen Pak-UAE tiesThe two sides reviewed the historical UAE-Pakistan ties and opportunities of enhancing joint cooperation in a way that serves the mutual benefit of the two Countries and their peoples across various domains, which falls within the framework of the two Countries’ strategic partnership.

The prime minister welcomed Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zaid Al Nahyan’s visit to Pakistan, stressing that it represents a strong drive towards developing the relations of the two friendly Countries.

The two parties discussed various cooperation paths especially in the fields of economy, trade and development, which are in line with the two Countries’ sustainability objectives.

They also discussed several issues of common interest, and exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

For his part, the prime minister reaffirmed his Country’s pride in the historical UAE-Pakistan relations, expressing his appreciation to the UAE for its continuous support to Pakistan in various conditions, especially in the development fields.

From Pakistani side, the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi, the Interim Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, and a number of officials attended the meeting.

From UAE, the meeting was attended by the Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council Sheikh Theyab Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE President’s Adviser Sheikh Sultan Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security Ali Mohammed Hammad Al Shamsi, and the UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al Zaabi.
