ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Cabinet has allowed the Kazakh Air Company SCAT Airlines to operate in Pakistan to start air travel between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, enabling direct air travel between the two Countries and helping boost bilateral trade.

In the meeting held with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Chair in Islamabad on Tuesday, the Cabinet approved the amendment in bilateral air routes between Pakistan and Tajikistan, which will reduce both air distance and travel costs.

To promote trade between Pakistan and Central Asian Countries, the Cabinet directed the Aviation Division to start work on finalizing air travel agreements with all Central Asian Countries.

The Federal Cabinet also approved the amendment to the air travel agreement between Pakistan and Iraq to increase the number of commercial flights between the two Contrives.

The Cabinet also further eased the process of obtaining Pakistani visas for Afghans on the basis of humanitarian grounds.

After this decision, the security clearance required for obtaining a visa has been reduced from 30 days to 15 days.

It was also decided to further facilitate the registration process of international NGOs working for the welfare and assistance of the Afghan people.

Likewise, the facility including travel by land and air routes for Afghans immigrating to other Countries through Pakistan was extended for another 60 days.

In the meeting, it was also decided to make the process of obtaining Pakistani visas easier for the officials of international NGOs working for the welfare of the Afghan people.
