The top-ranked in Group 1 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 England will meet New Zealand for the first Semi-Final at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday night. (PTV Sports)

Eoin Morgan-led side had remained unbeaten in the tournament till they suffered a 10-run defeat at the hand of South Africa at Sharjah on November 6.

Likewise, New Zealand also lost just one T20 International against Pakistan in the group stage and ended up at the second place in the Points Table of Group 2.

In their 21 previous bilateral T20I encounters, England won 12 games and New Zealand secured 7 victories while one match didn’t yield any result. Their last clash at Auckland on November 10, 2019 ended in a tie.

England have already won the title in 2010 when the ICC T20 World Cup was held in West Indies while New Zealand just managed to qualify for the Semi-Finals Stage twice in 2007 and 2016 but couldn’t further proceed.

For the first Semi-Final, England will replace injured Jason Roy with Sam Billings or David Willey and New Zealand are likely to keep an unchanged side.

In the second Semi-Final of the T20 World Cup 2021, Pakistan will take on Australia in Dubai on Thursday at 7:00 pm PST.
