WorldArmenians are building new military posts in Karabakh, confirms Azerbaijani Defence Ministry

BAKU, Azerbaijan: The Armenian forces are building new military posts in the disputed Karabakh region violating the tripartite statement signed by Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan on November 10, 2020, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry said according to the Eurasia Diary.

In a statement issued to the press, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry said that according to the tripartite statement signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the President of the Russian Federation and the Prime Minister of Armenia on November 10, 2020, the remnants of the Armenian armed forces were not fully removed from the territories of Azerbaijan where the Russian peacekeeping forces are temporarily stationed.

The statement said that in recent days, Armenia has been violating the tripartite statement by moving its armed forces to Azerbaijan where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, and setting up new Armenian posts near Mukhtarkend and Shushakend, as well as in the eastern part of Kalbajar and Lachin districts.

It said that adequate measures are taken by the Azerbaijani Army and such cases are not allowed.

The statement said that the Armenian side is purposefully resorting to such provocations to aggravate the situation.

The statement further said that all this is taking place against the background of the irresponsible and provocative order of the new Minister of Defence of Armenia Arshak Karapetyan to use force against the Armenian army by all means. We would like to remind that the former Minister of Defence of Armenia David Tonayan also spoke with a provocative military doctrine, which he called “new wars, new territories.” His shameful fate is known to everyone.

It said that the Azerbaijani Army will take all necessary measures.

In accordance with the provisions of the tripartite statement, the peacekeeping forces of the Russian Federation must put an end to the deployment of Armenian armed forces in the territories of Azerbaijan, where they are temporarily stationed.
