ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Through a letter addressed to Professor Dr. Iqbal Chaudhary, the Coordinator-General COMSTECH – an important institution of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) – Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman, the Chairman Association of Private Sector Universities Pakistan (APSUP), has announced an award of 300 scholarships for the students of Palestine.

The letter mentions that the private sector is playing a pivotal role in higher education in Pakistan.

The APSUP is an elected representative body of 85 private sector universities with 31 regional campuses across Pakistan. Currently, it has enrolled more than 40% of all students in the higher education sector in the Country.

The Chairman APSUP appreciated COMSTECH for launching the scholarship program in collaboration with the APSUP and other public sector universities to extend concrete support to the Palestinian youth who have limited access to higher education.

He stated that Palestine is very close to our hearts and indeed counts as a very important pillar of Muslim Ummah.

To contribute to Palestinian Muslim brothers and support them in having greater opportunities for higher education, the APSUP would like to offer 300 exclusive scholarships for the students and research scholars of Palestine. These scholarships have been committed by 22 private higher education institutions both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in various disciplines.

Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman offered further academic opportunities for the Palestinian faculty and students. He hoped that COMSTECH would facilitate in the wider circulation of offered scholarships and visa processing of the selected students.
