ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Registrar Sohail Nazir Rana retired from his service on Tuesday while the Dean of the Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies Professor Dr. Abdul Hameed Khan Abbasi will retire from his service on May 7, 2021.

The AIOU administration arranged a farewell ceremony as an acknowledgment of the services rendered by them.

While addressing the farewell ceremony, Vice-Chancellor AIOU Professor Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum paid glorious tributes to both the officers.

He remarked that they were a great asset for the university, and they discharged their responsibilities with an utmost sense of devotion, dedication, and commitment and the university will always commemorate their services in golden words. He also presented them university shields.

Moreover, consequent upon the retirement of Sohail Nazir Rana, Professor Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum in the exercise of his powers appointed Bibi Yasmin as the AIOU Acting Registrar along with all of its administrative and financial powers.

Bib Yameen has assumed the charge of her office with immediate effect and till further orders.
