LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali khan would take over the Interior Minister while Ahsan Iqbal would be awarded the portfolio of Information Ministry as names of key cabinet members and the Speaker of the National Assembly were finalised by the PML-N.

Khawaja Asif of PML-N, which emerged as the single largest party in the May 11 elections and was set to form a government at the center, would be Minister for Water and Power and Khurram Dastgir as Minister for Commerce.

Similarly, the Finance Ministry would be headed by Ishaq Dar while Sartaj Aziz would be awarded the portfolio of special advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs

PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif would keep the ministry of Defense with him while Tariq Fatimi, the veteran diplomat, would be made Advisor on Foreign Affairs.

Khawaja Saad Rafique would head the Railways ministry while Ministry of Law and Justice would go to Zahid Hamid.

Moreover, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, who defeated PTI chief Imran Khan in Lahore in the polls, were finalised for the slot of Speaker National Assembly while Birjees Tahir or Saira Tarar would be made Deputy Speaker.

PML-N’s leader Sardar Yaqub Nasir would be made Governor of the Balochistan province while former Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Iqbal was promised governorship of Punjab province.

While Sardar Mehtab Abbasi would become Governor of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
